Over the summer I was so tired of how I looked and how I felt so I made the decision to go on a strict diet and exercise every day. I realized that my old friend group was a bad influence on my and that they were not going down the path that I wanted to follow so I stopped hanging out with them. They always wanted to stay inside, rarely went out to walk around town or do things, and their social skills were so terrible that they couldn't really communicate with other people. I had one single friend who already had his license, and he went out every weekend, so I started hanging out with him and soon made a whole new set of friends from other schools in Ann Arbor and neighboring towns. It was a big risk to give up all of my friends and to make the effort to make new friends, but it actually worked for the best.

Knowing that my junior year was going to mean even more intense with harder courses, I decided to take Earth Science A online. This was a graduation requirement that I could fulfill in the summer so that I could make more space in my schedule to take the AP science classes I need to be competitive for college.

I have continued to build on my foundation by collecting donations from family, friends, and neighbors. I want other teenagers to feel the confidence I feel and donating needed basic hygiene items is one way that I know will help some of the kids at my school and in the county.
