As I continued my transformation process, I realized it was time for a wardrobe change.
I was wearing pretty much the same clothes as I wore in middle school with video game t-shirts and sweat pants. I wanted to stand out in a positive way and not be 'the kid who plays video games' so I found a classic style that fits my personality. For the first time in my life, I started to get compliments from kids my own age. People were surprised at my transformation having grown 5 inches, lost about 70 pounds, and wearing somewhat stylish clothes (for once!). This experience has shown me that how you present yourself is important. I immediately made a lot more friends because I was more confident and social with many people in school. During sophomore year I also had hard classes but now I had friends in every class, I figured out that we could study together and help each other. Asking for help was a big step for and I got more comfortable working in a group. This approach really paid off because it helped me to understand the content more easily by listening to others with different viewpoints and approaches. This year will be new friends, new clothes, a new approach, and REALLY hard classes.
